We assisted our client, Helix Enterprises, in obtaining option year 4 of its multi- year contract with NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center. During option year 3, there were discussions regarding unionizing the contract. We met directly with the union representative, the client and the Agency representative to address any issues with Helix’s staff and discussed alternative methods that could be accepted by the Agency to prevent Helix’s from losing its non-union employees to union employees. Three months before the expiration of option year 3, a follow up meeting was conducted with the Agency, the client and the center staff. During that meeting, the Agency verbally stated they would exercise the next option year. Two months later the official document was delivered to our client, signed by the Agency. As a result, Helix Enterprises retained all staff for the next year of operation.
